Halloween is a celebration we must approach prayerfully and ask God what He would have us do or not do. Some may be led to use it as an opportunity to share the light of God’s Word. Here is a leaflet you could distribute. You could combine it with giving out treats, if giving out treats is what you feel you should do. Or you may find another way to distribute them. This hand-out explains why we celebrate Reformation Day on October 31st. It briefly explains how and why Martin Luther helped to bring the truth of God’s Word to his world and affected the spreading of the light to the whole world.
On the back of the hand-out is an activity in which children can decode some of the words in I John 1:5&7.

You could hand out leaflets and treats separately, or you could place the leaflet and treat in an individual zip-lock bag. I have found that zip-lock sandwich bags are usually much cheaper than zip-lock quart-size bags. I recently bought a carton of 100 for a reasonable price. If you don’t want to open your door, you could even hang some twine on your fence (if you have one) and clothes-pin some zip-lock bags containing a leaflet and a treat.

You could print the leaflet on gold or orange paper, or you could use a colored pencil to color the moon and stars yellow or gold. To see a printable copy of the leaflet, CLICK HERE.
