This animated video, called The St. Patrick Story, will bring the courageous story of St. Patrick to life for the younger generation. For the most part, we in today’s America have—up to this point—lived a life quite sheltered from danger. This story may prepare the younger generation to rely upon God if they are faced with a dangerous situation. This presentation about St. Patrick’s life shows the stark contrast between worshipping the pagan gods of Ireland and trusting in the one true God who is loving and compassionate.
Patrick lived a comfortable life in England, with Christian parents who were prominent in the community. But Patrick didn’t take God seriously until he was kidnapped by pirates as a teenager and taken to Ireland. There he was forced to tend sheep all alone as a slave in a dangerous pagan land. It was then that his faith began to grow. By God’s miraculous intervention, he escaped six years later and returned to his home in England.
After returning home, Patrick felt God was calling him to serve as a priest. Later he heard a voice calling him to return to Ireland. He chose to return to the land where he would face danger and hardship so he could spread the good news of salvation through Christ in that pagan culture.
This half-hour video is part of a “Torchlighter” series promoted by the Voice of the Martyrs organization. Although this video is recommended for ages 8 to 12, in my opinion it is better suited to ages 9 to 12. Currently Vision Video is providing the whole video presentation on the internet.
