Ready-made whipped topping is a handy substitute for whipped cream, and it’s helpful for some who are lactose intolerant or on low-fat diets. On the other hand, if the host or hostess has the time and the guests’ diets permit it, real whipped cream might be a special treat.

​I thought I would provide some tips you may or may not know about making real whipped cream. I didn’t know how you could “stabilize” whipped cream until I looked up some information about whipped cream online. Don’t forget there are lots of flavoring options to use besides vanilla. Have some fun experimenting with different flavors.
