When my mom passed away just a few weeks before Christmas some years ago, a close relative sent me a poem called “I’m Spending Christmas with Jesus.” I thought I would share it on this website, but I discovered that it has a copyright protection. Instead, I wrote my own poem that I hope is comforting.

The Bible forbids people to try to establish communication with someone who has died. Isaiah 8:19 [WEB] says: “When they tell you, ‘Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter,’ shouldn’t a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?” Although we should not make an attempt to communicate with a loved one who has passed away, we can find some comfort in thinking about what they may want to tell us, if they could.

If you know someone who recently lost a loved one who had definitely received and followed Christ and is now in Heaven, you may want to send this poem to them.
