When the weather turns wet, the usual custom of making tissue paper pop out of the top of the gift bag sometimes seems rather impractical. Soggy tissue paper isn’t pretty. I sometimes managed to dig up a large plastic bag bigger than the gift and tissue, but that usually crumpled the tissue. Then when I took the gift bag out of the plastic bag, I had to try to fluff up the tissue paper to its former glory.

I decided to do something that seemed more practical. I threaded some curling ribbon through the handle holes, tied it, and curled it. (If I had trouble threading it through, I folded the tip of the ribbon in half.) I sometimes tie an extra piece of curled ribbon onto the other piece to add a little more drama.
