Here is a chowder reminiscent of a chowder my mom used to make. Since consuming too much of the preservatives found in most bacon doesn’t go so well with me and my husband usually doesn’t care for potatoes in soup, I have made up my own version of Mom’s chowder. It’s quite a simple recipe. Ground turkey, chicken, or pork, cabbage, onion, corn, and milk are the main ingredients.
Cold winter nights make soup very inviting. This chowder might be a nice way to begin your evening on New Year’s Eve. Some good bread or rolls on the side would make it a meal. No doubt you will want snacks later on, if you plan to see the New Year in.
