Okay, so it won’t revolutionize your life. But I always got frustrated when the butter melted off my knife while I was trying to butter my corn on the cob. My husband likes to butter a piece of bread and then use the bread to butter the corn. It did work fairly well, but it left me with a dilemma. What if I don’t want a piece of bread? For him it isn’t a problem. He ALWAYS wants a piece of bread. One day it hit me that maybe using the outside part of a spoon, with its convex curve, would work better than using a knife for buttering corn. When I tried it, it worked pretty well. There is an art to it, though. You need to start with spreading the butter at the tip of the spoon and work your way up the spoon. Try it next time you serve corn on the cob.
