Why not add a little St. Patrick’s Day flavor to some games in celebration of the day? Have a fun evening with a few of your favorite games and a few of your favorite people. You could make some minor adaptations to your everyday games to give them a special touch for the occasion. You might come up with your own creative ways to change the rules a little on some of your favorite games. Here are some ideas for changing the rules to highlight the color green on some favorite traditional games:

PICK-UP STICKS
Green Sticks – 100 points
(Some point systems may vary. If this doesn’t fit, just be sure to give the green sticks a substantially higher point value than the others.)

UNO
Make green cards double their face value for the winner of the hand.

TWISTER
Whenever the spinner lands on green, the player whose turn it is can place the hand or foot of their choice on one of the green spaces. Instead of saying, “Left hand green,” etc., the caller should just say “Green.”

AGGRAVATION
Whenever your marble lands in any colored hole, other than the ones in the home row, you must say, “Green reminds me of Ireland.” If you forget to say it before you remove your hand from your marble, you must go backward 10 spaces.

SORRY
You will need a pair of dice for this version. If the green player and another player land on the same space, instead of one player being sent back to home, each player will roll the two dice to determine the number of bonus spaces they will move ahead. If they land on the same space again, they will roll the dice again. If they land on a space together with a third player, all three will roll the dice.
