If you have a few “hams” in your family, you might have a lot of fun having a lip sync contest, using Christmas songs, while celebrating Christmas. You should announce your plans for the contest ahead of time so that participants will have plenty of time to practice. If it is part of a celebration including other events, you should probably limit it to three volunteers. Save some empty toilet paper cylinders for “microphones.”
When you are about ready to begin the contest, warn the participants that they need to get their songs cued up on a smartphone. The winner is the one most convincing at appearing to actually be singing the song. When all have done their performances, hold a stick over each head, one at a time, and let the audience applause decide the winner. If you plan to give a little prize, you should probably have enough for all participants, in case the audience thinks that more than one or all did a great job.
I don’t think it would be wise to use songs about the actual Christmas story and make light of them. Contestants could use one of the songs below or find one of their own choosing that is not directly related to the story of the birth of Christ.
